This blackish or brown solid material occurs naturally and is extensively mined for its colouring properties, in addition to as the primary source of manganese metal.The precursor (NE) was obtained by wet ball milling of electrolytic manganese dioxide, urea and deionized water (mass ratio 8:2:40) for 30 h and then suction filtration at 160 ℃. The target product NEG was obtained by milling NE with natural graphite (mass ratio 9:1) for 40 h and drying at 100 ℃.
